C-C Motif Chemokine 3
C-C motif chemokine 3 (92 aa, ~10 kDa) is encoded by the human CCL3 gene. This protein is involved in both the inhibition of HIV binding to C-C chemokine receptor type 5 and the regulation of neutrophil and monocyte chemotaxis.
C-C motif chemokine 3 is processed to form MIP-1-alpha(4-69). The active form of the chemokine is either a homodimer or a heterodimer comprised of MIP-1-alpha(4-69) and MIP-1-beta(3-69). (UniProt)
